With a dedicated focus on always improving the learners' experience, providing the most appropriate learning opportunities and being responsive to local, community and employer needs, Adult College is proud of its ethos of continuous improvement.
Recognising, welcome and celebrating the diverse community, Havering Adult College continues to work with key partners within the wider community and employment, whilst never losing sight of the need to ever expand these exciting opportunities to engage harder to reach learners and fully develop the learning and skills potential of Havering and neighbouring boroughs. Adult College is striving to offer something for everyone.
Statement of Learner Entitlement
Most of our courses are part funded by the Skills Funding Agency. As a result we are subject to independent scrutiny by Ofsted, who contribute to the monitoring of our high quality service.
As part of our commitment to ensure you (the Learner) receive a high quality learning experience, we have developed the following statement of learner entitlement for your time here at Havering Adult College:
You are given high quality teaching by qualified and experienced staff
You have a safe and healthy environment in which to learn
You are given clear and helpful advice and guidance throughout your learning journey (from initial advice through to identifying progression opportunities)
You are given support to reduce or remove barriers to learning and access to learning support services as appropriate
You are offered a range of learning opportunities that reflect the need and interests of the local communities
You have the opportunity to give us your views on the services provided and these will be used to improve your learning programmes in the future
You have access to a fair and unbiased complaints and appeals procedure
In return for the commitment we are making to you as the learner, we also ask that you accept some responsibility for your own learning:
Notify the teacher/centre if you are unable to attend a session
You let the tutor or centre staff know if you need any assistance should you experience any difficulties
You contribute to creating a pleasant learning environment by respecting the diverse backgrounds of other learners and staff
You behave responsibly and safely at all times
To help us assess how well we are doing in providing you with your learning opportunities we may visit your course, and /or ask you to complete learner satisfaction surveys and course evaluation forms. Please do take the time to complete these as your views can really help to shape the future of your college.
Any concerns you may have about your course should be raised in the first instance with your course teacher. If you remain dissatisfied and wish to formalise a complaint, please speak to the centre staff regarding our complaints procedure.

Friday 9:00am - 3:30pm Places are limited so enrol early to avoid disappointment.
